| Being an actor, you are your own instrument, and at times it can be demanding to develop your talent. Through the lessons at Performers House you will learn to rehearse and work by yourself as well as be part of a team. You will be supported when you encounter obstacles that blocks the direct way to adoption of a character.

We expect that you're on time for class, that you're well prepared, and that you're ready to work both physically and mentally. Every week you will have homework to prepare either on your own or with others. The homework is of a practical nature -scenes, sketches etc.
In the daily work we will be composing scenes, training your flexibility both emotionally and physically, decoding hidden information within texts, and planning a work process. The work is spread over a number of genres - e.g. classical, modern and comedy.
You will perform on stage several times – in both smaller and full-scale productions. Each week you also work on stage with your classmates as an audience. During the daily work, the focus is on your development and the process itself. During production work, the focus is mainly on the result. The production work is done in such a way that it resembles the work done at a professional production.

Course content The course will contain elements like: Acting technique (based on the Stanislavskij system), scenic movement, voice training and production.
You can be an experienced actor or a beginner, what matters is that you're ready and willing to work with the art of acting.
If you wish, you can take solo lessons in acting/theater, where you will work with a professional actor/director. Solo lessons are not included in the main school tuition and will cost an additional fee.
Besides the main subject, there will be common courses in Reflections, choir, PR/Communication, Danish language- and culture/ International culture and Lovers with a camera. >> Head of the Theatre Department is Karin Sjöholm >> Magnus Errboe teaches physical theatre/scenic movement >> Other teachers on the theatre line: Mikhail Belinson and Mette Rønne | |
