Performer - dream or reality

As a student on the spring or fall long course, you choose one of the main lines: music, dance, theatre, new circus or electronic music line. During the course, you will be working intensely on developing yourself and your skills as an artist, as well as working together with the students from the other lines. You will be involved in both small and big projects, performances, concerts and workshops. If you wish, you can choose to take private lessons in your main subject, where you can develop your particular technique and talent further.

At Performance House you will not only develop your talent as a dancer, musician, actor or circus artist. The school will give you the full experience of an entire artistic process and what it means to live the life of a performer. This means that in addition to practicing lines, dance steps and chords, you will also learn about Danish language- and culture, PR/Communication, Film and acting technique and choir. You will get a solid behind-the-scenes know-how, and a sense of the real artistic world that awaits outside the school.

Your main subjects fill about half of your weekly timetable. The other half consists of interdisciplinary subjects — often grouped under a common theme.
An interdisciplinary subject could, for example, be about the tango – where the class would learn about the history of the tango, beat and timing, masculine/feminine roles, the music and the culture that created that style of dancing.

There are no limits to what we can teach at Performers House. The important thing is that the subject can be put into perspective in relation to the rest of the teaching.

The teaching onset at Performers House is firstly the committed and ambitious students, who are willing to share themselves and their talents with others. The heart needs to be in it, even though it may sometimes skip a beat.
